Daily, I struggled to muster enough energy to commute from work to home. Apathy and fatigue dominated my life until I tried 5-HTP. Although I had no issues sleeping, I often needed a quarter of an hour to adjust upon waking. After just four days of taking a capsule at night, I felt more energetic and less fatigued by daily tasks. I could run to catch a bus without breathlessness. My mood improved; I reacted less to frustrations and started tackling long-delayed tasks. I wake up easily now. However, I experienced some sleep-related "bonuses", such as vivid dreams and a sensation of light sleep. Overall, while there are quirks, the benefits about chronic fatigue syndrome clearly outweigh the drawbacks.

I currently take 100 mg of 5-HTP alongside cypralex for my depression. Although combining them is not generally advised due to the risk of serotonin syndrome, I’ve noticed a significant positive effect, comparable to a higher dose of cypralex. I maintained a good mood without experiencing any adverse effects.
